Attack of the Neocons What is a neocon? Are you a neoconservative? In a nutshell the neocons are the ruling junta currently in charge of our national security and our military. They believe in a super militarized agenda. They call it transformation and these intellectuals with corporate ties and investments were just about looking forward to a catastrophe akin to the events of Pearl Harbor so that people would be more willing to support the idea of massive defense budgets. Their manifesto about a revamped and revitalized military is spooky, paranoid stuff about how important it is to dump billions into defense spending. These are people who were furious with the Clinton era reductions in defense budgets and this is their solution. Ironically it is in this manifesto where you'll find this little excerpt below: "A transformation strategy that solely pursued capabilities for projecting force from the United States, for example, and sacrificed forward basing and presence, would be at odds with larger American policy goals and would trouble American allies. Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor." -- Rebuilding America’s Defenses: Strategy, Forces and Resources for a New Century pg 51. Dick Cheney is often called Darth Vader but I feel he is far more similar to Grand Moff Tarkin. Cheney, like Tarkin represents a fusion of corporation, or industry and state, he is policy-maker and weapons maker and energy profiteer all rolled into one. He has corporate conglomerates that benefit from his shock and awe tactics and one-percent doctrines. The Oil Would Pay For Everything

The Invasion was always the plan. WMD, 9/11, spreading freedom; all that was horseshit Former aide of Colin Powell: WMD speech “lowest point in my life” Their Al Qaeda stoolie was a liar, and they knew it even before using his “evidence” to convince congress and the public that Iraq was training Al Qaeda fighters. They weren't before, but now they are. The longer we are there the more money they make. Why the hell would they want to leave? We will never Cut and Run? When they say Cut and Run what the mean is they REFUSE to cut off the cash flow and run away from the land of oil, opportunity and little regulation. A senior Iraqi intelligence officer reportedly made three visits to Sudan, reportedly meeting Bin Laden in 1994. Bin Laden is said to have requested space to establish training camps, as well as assistance in procuring weapons, but Iraq apparently never responded. There have been reports that contacts between Iraq and al Qaeda also occurred after Bin Laden had returned to Afghanistan, but they do not appear to have resulted in a collaborative relationship. Two senior Bin Laden associates have adamantly denied that any ties existed between al Qaeda and Iraq. We have no credible evidence that Iraq and al Qaeda cooperated on attacks against the United States.--9/11 Commission

What do we do now? How do we get out? Here's Ralph Nader on How to leave Iraq and what needs to be done. Now you know why no one is talking about that. Because everyone in charge in either party has no intention of walking away completely or allowing a truly free-of-American influence type government in place. Ralph goes on to express the facts and getting them out in the open is the very fucking least we owe the Iraqis after all we've done to them and their country.
You measure peace with guns; Progress in mega-tons. Who's left when the war is won? Soldier of misfortune—Soldier of an angry call, Soldier on foreign soil, I'm not here to fight your war. I know what you're fighting for… —Soldier of Plenty Jackson Browne All you have to do is put me on display and people will pay to see me. Lots of people. Put me in a fancy coffin with windows in it and take me out where people are spending money and having fun. Take me to the beaches and the county fairs and the fourth of July celebrations and all the church bazaars. They’ve seen the Pin-Headed Girl from Timbuktu and the Dog-Faced Man who crawls on his belly like a reptile but they’re not real freaks. They were born that way; they were made that way by God. But this thing here in his fancy coffin was made by people; by you and me and the lady next door, and that takes a lot of planning and costs a lot of money. Advertise me as the only piece of meat in the world that can talk through the back of his head. And if that doesn’t pull them in then bill me as the last man on earth who joined the army because the army makes men. So rally round the flag, boys; your flag, their flag, anybody’s flag; because the flag needs soldiers and the army makes men. –Joe Bonham, the dismembered WWI veteran protagonist in Dalton Trumbo’s Johnny Got His Gun
