What is Project: Halve Me?

Project: Halve Me is a self-imposed, self-designed experiment in shaving off half my current body weight. The experiment is driven by the switch from a processed, corporate-food, omnivorous binge-a-thon to a mostly vegan/vegetarian diet*. The switch is being made for philosophical and spiritual reasons as well as healthful and nutritional ones. Losing weight, body-fat, is a personal goal of the project, however, decreasing my impact on the world around me and spreading the word about the benefits of vegetarianism and Veganism are also what's driving Project: Halve Me.

My current weight is not only a result of simply eating mass quantities of food, it is also the result of years of fast food consumption. The effort behind Project: Halve Me is intended to radically alter that lunatic course towards self-destruction and continued karmic agony.

*-why do I say mostly, or predominantly, vegan? Because if I occasionally slip and eat dairy and/or eggs or even meat, I don't want my lapses in discipline or acts of culinary indiscretion to taint the concept of Veganism.
